1 lb hamburger
1/3 cup onion, chopped
1/2 tsp celery salt
1 tsp garlic salt
salt & pepper to taste
2 tbsp flour
1 oz can tomato sauce
1/2 cup water
2 tbsp vinegar
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp chili powder
Brown hamburger in a saucepan. Add chopped onions and cook until transparent. Add seasoning, flour, tomato sauce, and water. Mix well. Add vinegar, sugar, and chili powder. Let simmer for 10-15 minutes. Serve on a hamburger bun.
Sloppy Joe's never sound as good as they really are. This recipe is not as sweet as most Sloppy Joe's tend to be which I like.
I used to make this recipe a lot growing up. This was a Friday night favorite. I liked to be very liberal with the chili powder but some in my family did not handle the spice well.
